Assessments consist of standardized and non-standardized assessments. It assesses all areas of play, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory processing, scholastic tasks, concentration, behaviour and visual perceptual skills. The assessment is 1,5 to 2 hours, depending on the child. The assessment fee includes the full comprehensive assessment, a formal report and a one-hour feedback meeting with parents to discuss the results.
Treatment sessions can be made up of 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions that are tailor-made to the client?s needs and goals. The duration of therapy is dependent upon the child’s individual needs, the child’s response to the therapy process, the severity of the impairment, the frequency of sessions and the attendance/consistency of lessons and home programs. We use play and activities as a means to reach goals. Our sessions are client-directed.
Ideas/ strategies/ home programs will be provided depending on the child’s needs.
We offer a short 15-minute observation as a screening for children who are unsure whether OT is needed but there has been some red flags raised from parents or teachers.
We value including the child’s main role-players in their therapy process. We provide parent and teacher education where necessary in order to fully support the child’s needs.
